Clinton River Trail—Trail Conditions Update
UPDATED November 2009 -- The paving of the Trail is proceeding where it crosses Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills. The safety island is in place, and rough gravel paths connect the existing Trail to the sides of Hamlin Road. It is hoped by November 15th the paving of the paths will be complete or a temporary solid surface will be provided. An overhead pedestrian crossing sign and 4 lights for street lighting will be installed this winter.
A Diversion at Diversion
A change in the Trail has been constructed, just east of the Diversion Street crossing, under the Rochester Road bridge. About 100 yards of Trail, part of it concrete, and part crushed limestone, now passes forty feet south of the old route, around some construction and back to the old Trail. The crushed part is a bit soft but it seems the new route will give a better visibility to see vehicles on Diversion Street.
Thanks to Chuck Hatch—Friends of the Clinton River Trail member—for the update.
